You may encounter an error when installing some of the components on AX. The error message will read:
The AOS ‘<server>@<port>’ cannot be reached. Setup cannot continue. Verify that you are entering the correct server information and that the AOS service is running.
It makes life a lot easier to built one installation set to install your DAX 2012 software along with any kernel patches or CU updates. Simple copy the files into a directory (one for each patch or update) under the installation folder ‘Updates’. This will mean that when you install a client, or any other DAX component the installation will automatically update with the ‘updates’ so everything can be installed in one process and wont be missed or forgotten.
Trying to do an install of SSRS with AX2012 R2 and came across another endpoint issue. Looking at the AIF inbound ports found none of the services would start. Each one would report the following type error:

During the recent installation of the Help Server an issue was encountered with the content pane (left pane) of the help screen being blank, and the search feature never return results.
The exact cause of this problem has not been discovered, but how to avoid the problem and achieve a clean fully working installation has been.
