AX2012 Installation error AOS cannot be reached

You may encounter an error when installing some of the components on AX. The error message will read:

The AOS ‘<server>@<port>’ cannot be reached. Setup cannot continue. Verify that you are entering the correct server information and that the AOS service is running.

This can be caused by a number of reason:

  1. AOS is not running.
  2. Firewall is blocking communication to the AOS.
  3. Incorrect information is entered.

If none of the above are the issue then you should consider the following:

This error message will be returned if the system service accounts, setup in AX, for the business connector proxy, is blank or setup to an account that does not exist.
